Comment on a colleague’s work #2

I just read my friend’s blog. I have the same question with him: “Government is telling us what to eat now?” I heard that before that government ban artificial Trans fat from restaurants, bakeries, movie theaters to improve people’s health. Because of eating Tran’s fat, it’s increasing the risk of some illnesses, such as high cholesterone, heart disease. However, the growth countries, like the US, people are so busy at work, and school, so they don’t have enough time to repair meals. Thus, people use food which is made by manufactures or in cans. Almost they are Tran’s fat food. I’m sure that everybody knows that, but they don’t have many choices. Unless they don’t choice Trans fat food, they have to choice fast food. They’re the same value. What should we eat now for our health? when our life is as busy as, we don't care too much about our meals. Thus, the rate of diseases economy, like diabet, hear disease is increasing in the world.

Freedoom

That's all I want to say. To be honest, I love the way how American express their feeling and emotion. For the most basic thing, to say "I love you" to your Mom or Dad is also a big difference. For American children, if I wasn't wrong, I have observed that it was just very familiar and easy to say that to their parents. For me, I would be a challenge. Frankly, I have had never said "I love you" to my Mom. It always made me feel nervous and feel totally abnormal. Yet for the kids in the U.S, they just live with it. I think maybe it because of the way we were educated. In Vietnam, we were taught to keep our feeling and emotion. Even parents don't use to express their love to their children. That's how it works for the whole generation.
For the couple, the way they kiss each other in the public somehow make me really impress and admire them. When I first came to the U.S, I already prepared for those kinds of things but the first time when I saw a couple kissing on the Guadalupe streets, I was blushing. In Vietnam, if a couple express their love to each other in the public, it would be seemed as a rude and impolite attitude.
For friends, they express how they feel, say what they think and somehow, I have a feeling that American talk a lot. I had a chance to hang out with 2 native speakers, one guy and one girl. They kept their conversation going on and on, even they jump into the speech to show their opinion about the topics. At that time, I didn't know how to interrupt them to show my point of view, I thought that it would be a rude attitude.
To conclude, I love the way how American utter their feeling, emotion and mind. It's more easier to survive with this life.

Comment on a colleague’s work #1

Hi Amy,
Today, I read your blog about “School-choice”. You helped me to know more about school system in the US. I agree with you that the future of American is our children. And also “the key to making our Nation great, is giving our children a great education”. It‘s not only in the US, but also in the other countries. Thus, the only thing is school system, which helps our children to have a great education. I am surprised when the citizens of the US have to pay high property taxes, but they have no choice the public schools their children can attend. It’s so different from my country. Children can choose the high school with good qualities, but they have to get good grades in the middle school. However, you can choose the elementary and middle school only in the district where you are living. In another hand, in the US, the location of their houses determines where their children have to attend school, unless they decided to put them in private school. Therefore, people who are living in the US, shouldn’t looking for the dream house, they should pick where their children attend school. In my country, it’s same here. If some houses in the districts, which have great schools, their price is usually more expensive.
This article is a good resource for me. It gave me more knowledge about the school system. I think the government should give the citizens some choices to pick the school for their children. Thus, people don’t have to do two jobs to earn more money for the private schools. People will have enough time to take care their family.

I love The US !!

I have just come to the US for two years, so I don’t know the political American too much. Therefore, I decided to take the US government class this semester, for improving more knowledge about it. When I came to the US, I was surprised for the independence of the US. Because I come from the socialist country, Vietnam, it is so different here. I love the independent of the US
First of all, people can be freedom to choose the religion. The US has many religions, such as Buddhist, catholic, Hindu… because people at the US come from many countries. However, people can choose whatever they like; it makes them so pleasant for being kept their religion.
Second, people are freedom on the communications, such as newspaper, internet, at school…It’s so different from my country, and also it’s the best thing, I love when I live here. The citizens can say their opinion about the politic, the economy, and share information together on the communications. They don’t care the government. In my country, we cannot say our thought, or discuss about the politic on commutation. I think it’s the best way to help the US to grow as now.
Although I come from the different country, when I go to school, or everywhere, people are kind and nice to help me. There is Africa, Asian… who are working the government of the US. All citizens are equal in the eye of the law.
In my brief, I love the life in the US. It’s independent, so I can go to school, and make many friends from many countries. Also we are freedom to talk and discuss on the communications. Although we are different from religions, countries..; we have the same live in the US. Thus, we worship the government of the US.

the world is praying for Japanese people

Nowadays, the world is praying for Japanese people. Sandra Barron is the Japanese author, who recorded this happen on the new york time. When she was working on blog post, the room started to sway. After that, everything was falling down in the kitchen, and sliding around the floor. When it stopped, she tried to call her boyfriend, and text to him to say about that she was OK. However, they couldn’t go through. Therefore, everyone used Twitter tends to tweet about the quake, when it happened. She took a photograph and posted it. The author said “ Tweets was flying by faster I could read them.” Also she related the event on Sept.11,2001, She was working in New York. As she headed toward the sene, she wanted to tell people that she was ok, and what she was seeing. However, her cellphone down, and she didn’t have any way to communicate. Nowadays, technology has changed in these last few years continues to amaze her.
In my brief, I agreed her that technology is helpful. I am so amazing when the quake was happeing in Japan, people were watching live on Television. It is the growth of the technology. It helped us so much. Indeed, we can know how our friends, our family are living thoughout the world.

the politic of Libya

I read the opinion on the New York Time. It talked about the politic of Libya. I agree with the author that “unless some way is found to stop him, Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi of Libya will slaughter hundreds or even thousands of his own people in his desperation to hang on to power.” We recognized a big popular revulsion against an autocratic regime, and lauded some countries’ movement for their civilized and restrained demeanor. Why don’t let people of each nation decide for itself?  Although there is much more open talk of direct military, technological, and economic intervention in Libya, there is not an obvious consensus, which they need to overthrow the regime. It’s necessary for Libya. Therefore, “some member may also be turning against the regime”. Obama spoke with France, Britain, and Italy to find ways to stop the killing. The authors are right the best way is economy. American and Europe can block Libya’s access to the international financial system. Next, they ban Europe to sell weapons to Libya. Finally, the US and Europe will deny the visa travel of Libyan leaders.
In my brief, I agree the authors of methods are necessary to stop killing in Libya. If the killing still continue, what should the US and Europe solve? I think Libyan leader should connect with the military to find the best for regime. Let people of Libyan decide for its.

The US and the Egypt are still a friend and partner.

Nowadays, a new that talks about the resignation of Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak, is the hottest new on television, newspapers. The president of the US, Barak Obama, said that “Egypt’s transition begins” on BBC News.
Egypt’s transition is beginning to democracy, so Mr. Obama warned of “difficult days ahead”. First of all, he called the Egyptian should revise the constitution and prepare for the elections to choose a new president. Although he couldn’t answer many questions, he consoled the Egyptians that “ But I am confident that the people of Egypt can find the answers, and do so peacefully, constructively, and in the spirit of unity that has defined these last few weeks”. Finally, he promised to be willing to help whenever the Egyptians were necessary and requested. Therefore, Mr. Obama affirmed that “the US will continue to be a friend and partner to Egypt.”
I think it’s the worth reading, because Mr.Obama wanted to encourage the people of the Egypt by this article. As we know everything is in confusion at the Egypt, so everybody in there needs to help from the US. Frankly, the US and the Egypt have been friendly for many years. Thus, the US president promised to provided when the Egyptian need. This article is the link between the US and the Egypt. Also it’s mobilization of Mr.Obama for the people at the Egypt.
